Roofing Concepts Unlimited Earns BOMA 360 Designation in Recognition of Excellence in Building Management

Roofing Concepts Unlimited has been designated a BOMA 360 Performance Building by the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International. The BOMA 360 Performance Program validates and recognizes commercial properties that demonstrate best practices in building operations and management.

Officers and key personnel at Roofing Concepts Unlimited/Fl. Inc. are proud to announce receipt of the prestigious BOMA 360 Performance Designation during the recent 2011 International TOBY competition held in Washington D.C. on June 28, 2011, where RCU/Giacobazzi Partners, LLC competed in the corporate category after winning a TOBY at the local and regional level.

"We are proud to designate Roofing Concepts Unlimited/Fl. Inc. as a BOMA 360 Performance Building in recognition of the high standards the management team has achieved in every aspect of building operations and management," said BOMA International Chair Ray H. Mackey, Jr., RPA, CPM, CCIM, partner and chief operating officer, Stream Realty Partners, L.P.  "By achieving the BOMA 360 designation for your building, you demonstrate to your owners, tenants, prospective tenants and the community that your property is being managed to the highest standards of excellence."

The BOMA 360 Performance Program is a groundbreaking building designation program that evaluates properties in six major areas:  building operations and management; life safety/security/risk management; training and education; energy; environment/sustainability; and tenant relations/community involvement. The BOMA 360 Performance Program takes a holistic approach to evaluating a building's operations and management and benchmarks a building's performance against industry standards.  The program comes at a critical time, as building owners and managers are looking to differentiate themselves in a demanding market.

RCU takes great pride in its building ownership and management accomplishments. Our affiliation/membership and involvement with BOMA has allowed us to excel with extremely high standards of property management including energy efficiency, solar power and an Energy Star Rating. Special thanks to the other vendor members who assist us with maintaining our building including janitorial and landscape services. RCU hopes that we have set a new standard for other vendor members to follow and work toward similar accomplishments.

Sponsor Needed for Mentoring Program

CREW Fort Lauderdale/Palm Beach is again undertaking its annual scholarship award, established in 2010, for a female student enrolled in NOVA Southeastern University's Masters in Real Estate Development Program. The winner, selected based on her essay, professors' recommendations, extracurricular activities and grades will receive a $1,000 scholarship and a one-year membership to CREW upon graduation to broaden and foster her network while starting a career in the real estate industry.

We are actively looking for a sponsor to underwrite this scholarship. In addition to making an impact in the community, the sponsor will be highlighted during the application process both at NOVA Southeastern University and with CREW, and will be formally recognized at the official award ceremony.

Congratulations to Gina Leggiere

CREW Fort Lauderdale/Palm Beach member Gina Leggiere recognized as "Business Person of the Year" by the Davie-Cooper City Chamber of Commerce. Of more than 500 Sign*A*Rama's in the United States, Leggiere is one among only 10 percent of female owners. Leggiere, of Boca Raton, operates the business with a team of talented graphic designers, sign makers, installers, clerical and sales employees. "These people really make me look good - they work hard and produce the finest advertising products offered today," Leggiere said.

Leggiere, who has helicopter skied on Alaskan glaciers, enjoys the challenges of growing her business: "As a business owner I am proud to say not only does my business provide jobs in the community, but my employees and I are improving the commercial visual appearance of the community through stimulating, eye appealing signage." In fact, one of Leggeire's most recent clients, Guy Harvey, Inc., praised her supersized fabrication of Harvey's iconic signature that now hangs in blue LED at the world headquarters in Davie. The company credited Leggeire for taking the lead in Davie's 90-day sign approval process which included following town appearance codes, influencing new code laws and attending crucial Town Council meetings. "I strive not simply to do a good job, but to do a great job," said Leggiere.

Leggiere also played a role in the May 14 Town of Davie dedication for the Detective Roger Castillo Street and Memorial Garden. Leggiere created the street sign and donated the memorial plaque to honor slain Miami-Dade Police officer Roger Castillo who was killed in the line of duty in January.

Leggiere is hard working, driven, and the consummate professional. Having owned and operated a successful Sign*A*Rama for ten years in Piscataway, New Jersey, Leggiere relocated to South Florida in 2005. In little time, she purchased the Davie Sign*A*Rama and joined the Davie-Cooper City Chamber of Commerce. She was elected to the Davie-Cooper City Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors in 2011 and serves on both the Executive and the Business Expo committees.

Leggiere has also been recognized for her business strength by Sign*A*Rama. She was elected to the "SIGNARAMA Hall of Fame", sat on the Franchise Advisory Council, was the founding Secretary/Treasurer of the SIGNARAMA Ad Fund for 3 years and was the keynote speaker for Sign*A*Rama World Expo in Orlando.

Alice Harrington, President of the Davie-Cooper City Chamber of Commerce,
honored Leggiere at the organization's June 15 Chamber of Commerce Awards Breakfast. Leggiere said she was proud to be considered. "There are so many outstanding businesses in the Davie and Cooper City areas, that it's truly an honor to be recognized as the Business Person of the Year. Throughout the year, I provide sign solutions to so many area businesses. It's gratifying to be recognized for all that we have accomplished together," says Leggiere.

In addition to the Davie-Cooper City Chamber of Commerce Leggiere is a member of the Plantation Chamber of Commerce, the Southeast Florida Apartment Association (SEFAA), the Florida Apartment Association, and the National Apartment Association, Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) of Fort Lauderdale and the Palm Beaches and CREW National.
